PROCEDUREv2.10 UTIL PROMPT/R /R /R /R This procedure will display a number of stored tests made/R with the waveform and spectrum analysis capability of System/R One's DSP module. Each test graph will pause for you to/R examine it. Your may use graphic cursors for detailed/R examination by touching either horizontal arrow key or the/R or keys after a graph is displayed. The arrow/R keys move the cursor by one data point. arrow moves/R 5 data points, and arrow moves 25 data points. Press/R after examining each screen to move to the next screen./E LOAD TEST SQUARWAV/R /F7/F10/E LOAD TEST SQUARFFT/R /F7/F10/E LOAD TEST SMPTEWAV/R /F7/F10/E LOAD TEST SMPTEFFT/R /F7/F10/E UTIL PROMPT/R /R /R The following graph is an FFT spectrum analysis of the residual/R distortion of System One's analog generator and analyzer at 1 kHz./R Note the fundamental frequency at 1 kHz, attenuated 129 dB by the/R analyzer's notch filter. 2nd through 8th harmonics are visible/R at amplitudes from -124 dB to -146 dB below the unattenuated/R fundamental./R /R Press to obtain the graph./E LOAD TEST RESIDUAL/R /F7/F10/E UTIL PROMPT/R /R /R /R The following graph is a "dual trace" FFT spectrum analysis of/R white noise (upper trace) and pink noise (lower trace) from/R System One's BUR-GEN option. Note that the white noise, as/R analyzed with the FFT which in effect has constant bandwidth,/R appears flat across the spectrum. The pink noise appears to/R have a -3 dB per octave fall-off with frequency when analyzed/R with a constant bandwidth spectrum analyzer./R /R Press to obtain the noise spectral display./E LOAD TEST NOISEFFT/R /F7/F10/E UTIL PROMPT/R /R /R /R The following graph is a "dual trace" FFT spectrum analysis of/R a Compact Disc player while playing dithered and non-dithered/R low amplitude tracks of the CBS test disc. The upper trace,/R calibrated by the left-hand vertical scale, was taken while playing/R the -90.31 dB dithered 1 kHz signal. The lower trace, calibrated/R by the right-hand vertical scale, was taken from the -90.31 dB/R undithered signal. Note the large number and higher amplitude of/R distortion products (especially at 5th harmonic and above) from/R the undithered signal and the higher noise level with the dithered/R signal./R /R Press to obtain the display./E LOAD TEST CDDITHER/R /F7/F10/E RUN EXIT UTIL END
